this has nothing to do with your pitchfork ATP video, although I love it.
Randy & Dean, Eli Kaufman, here. My friend Asher and I attended FYF Fest this year, and met Randy while he walked around the festival. We spoke briefly of our high school service project, which involves simultaneously bringing young musicians (mostly students) and professional groups to the school in order to foster an accessible, progressive music scene in Orange County; the project is centered around the fact that there isn’t a strong one. We feel that opening the school up to other musicians in the area has the potential to cultivate a serious D.I.Y. culture in a place not accustomed to grassroots creativity. We are also creating a radio program that focuses on how musicians got into music when they were kids in order to better understand how to conduct music education in schools. We would love to interview you both for that too, if possible. Essentially though, you guys are one of my favorite bands and I would love to have you guys perform in any form at one of the concerts we will be putting on. The concerts are in the very fetal stage. We don’t even really have any prospective dates, but if you could let me know around when you think you’d be available to play, that would be awesome. Also, how much would it cost to get you guys to play? Ideally, since it is a charitable event, we could get you guys to play for free, but we are willing to raise money or do our best to accommodate to a charge you guys have. I hope this works out. I think it could be great
